How to make dog biscuits

Why not give the store-bought treats a miss this year and have a go making these healthy, yummy, drool-worthy dog treats?

What you need:

Baking tray lined with greaseproof paper

Wooden spoons

Measuring scales

Teaspoon/ measuring cups

Rolling pin

Oven gloves

Cooling rack

Measuring jug

Cookie cutter

Ingredients (makes about 20 biscuits):

350 grams plain flour

1 egg

A low salt chicken stock cube

2 tablespoons dried parsley

120 ml hot water

The process:

Preheat your oven at 200°C

Begin by sieving the flour into a bowl.

Add in the egg and parsley

Dissolve the stock cube into hot water and pour in

Mix to form a dough, then knead for a few minutes until it forms a ball – you may need to add a tiny bit more water at this stage.

Place on a floured board and roll the dough out evenly until it’s half an inch thick approx

Cut out shapes using your cookie cutter

Place the cut out biscuits on a baking tray that is lined with greaseproof paper

Cook in the centre of the oven for 20 – 30 minutes until they are golden brown

Allow to cool before serving, then let your pet pooch enjoy!
